Remotely Access Your Voicemail Inbox

Learn how to conveniently access your voicemail inbox from anywhere, ensuring you never miss important messages again.

Remote Access allows you to check your voicemail from outside your organization using an external phone, such as a mobile phone or landline. Before you can access voicemail remotely, Remote Access must be enabled from your voicemail phone menu.

Requirements and notes

  • Voicemail must be enabled for your user profile.
  • You need your voicemail password/PIN to access voicemail remotely.
  • Remote Access must be enabled before you can check voicemail from an external phone.
  • You can access voicemail remotely by calling your direct phone number or by calling your company phone number and entering your extension.
  • Voicemail menu options may vary depending on your organization’s voicemail settings and enabled features.
 

Enable remote access permissions

Before using Remote Access, confirm it is enabled from your voicemail settings phone menu.

  1. Access your voicemail inbox from your desk phone or by dialling *95.
  2. From the Main menu, press 4 for voicemail settings.
  3. From Voicemail settings, press 2 for admin options.
  4. Press 4 for Remote Access.
  5. Press 1 to enable Remote Access.

Voicemail password note

If you do not know your voicemail password/PIN, you can update it from Profile Settings > Voicemail in the Sync desktop or browser app.

 

Access voicemail using your direct phone number

If you have a direct phone number, you can call your number from an external phone and enter your voicemail password/PIN.

  1. Call your 10-digit phone number from an external phone.
  2. When you hear your voicemail greeting, press *.
  3. Enter your voicemail password/PIN.
  4. Press #.
  5. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages.

Access voicemail through the company's remote access number

If you do not have a direct phone number, you may be able to access voicemail by calling your company phone number and entering your extension.

  1. Call the company 10-digit phone number from an external phone.
  2. When the greeting plays, enter your extension.
  3. Press #.
  4. Enter your voicemail password/PIN.
  5. Press #.
  6. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages.

Tips and troubleshooting

Issue What to check
You cannot access voicemail from an external phone. Confirm Remote Access is enabled and that you are entering the correct voicemail password/PIN.
Pressing * does not open the voicemail login prompt. Confirm you are pressing * while your voicemail greeting is playing.
Your voicemail password/PIN is not working. Update your voicemail password from Profile Settings > Voicemail in the Sync desktop or browser app, then try again.
You cannot access voicemail through the company phone number. Confirm you are entering the correct extension before pressing #.
Remote Access options are not available. Ask an Administrator to confirm whether Remote Access is available for your organization.
