Use Silent Mode when you are in a meeting, focusing on work, or temporarily unavailable. When Silent Mode is enabled, you can also choose whether to mute calls, mute notifications, or both.

Enable Silent Mode

Open the notification menu from the top-right corner of the Sync app to enable Silent Mode.

  1. Log in to the Sync app.
  2. Click the bell icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Turn on Silent Mode.
  4. Choose one or both of the following options:
    • Mute Calls: Stops incoming call alerts from ringing in the Sync app.
    • Mute Notifications: Stops app notifications, such as message or activity alerts.
Example: Silent Mode enabled in the Sync desktop app.

Disable Silent Mode

Turn off Silent Mode when you are ready to receive Sync app calls and notifications again.

  1. Click the bell icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Turn off Silent Mode.
Example: Silent Mode enabled in the Sync desktop app.

Silent Mode vs. device Do Not Disturb

Silent Mode controls notifications inside the Sync app. Your computer or mobile device may also have a separate Do Not Disturb or Focus setting.

For the best Do Not Disturb experience, use Silent Mode in Sync and confirm your device notification settings match how you want to work.

Setting Notification controls
Sync Silent Mode Enable or disable Sync app call and message notifications.
Device Do Not Disturb (DND) Enable or disable notifications for your entire device.
