The Sync Settings Portal is the browser-based configuration environment used to manage the users, company resources, account preferences, reporting tools, and call-routing features that support your organization’s Sync experience.

Sync Apps vs. Settings Portal

The Sync app and Settings Portal work together, but they serve different purposes.

  • The Sync desktop, browser, and mobile applications enable users to place calls, send messages, access contacts, join Huddle meetings, and complete other daily communication tasks.
  • The Sync Settings Portal enables users and administrators to manage how those features are configured.

The Sync browser, desktop, and mobile apps provide the main communication experience.

Depending on their assigned services, users may be able to:

  • Place and receive calls.
  • Send and receive messages.
  • View call history and voicemail.
  • Access company and external contacts.
  • Start or join Huddle video meetings.
  • Review recordings and other available activity.

The Settings Portal contains the configurations that support the communication experience.

Depending on their permissions, users and administrators may be able to:

  • Manage Team Members and user-level settings.
  • Configure company phone numbers, devices, departments, and Ring Groups.
  • Review analytics and call activity.
  • Manage organization-level preferences and controls.
  • Configure Call Queues and related routing tools.

Access the Settings Portal from Sync

The Sync app provides two main links to the Settings Portal:

  • Company Settings
  • Admin Settings

Both links open the Settings Portal environment in a new browser tab. They act as starting points within the portal rather than separate portals.

  1. Sign in to the Sync browser or desktop app.
  2. Click your Profile icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Company Settings or Admin Settings.
Example: The Sync browser app with the right slideout menu open, and both “Company Settings” and “Admin Settings” jumplinks are highlighted.

Access the Settings Portal directly

Users can also access the Settings Portal directly through its login URL.

After signing in, the tabs and subpages available depend on the user’s permissions, assigned licences, and company configuration.

Example: Settings Portal login page.

The left-hand icon menu is used to navigate the main Settings Portal tabs. Within each tab, users can select individual subpages containing related settings, tools, or resources. For example, you may open the Company Settings tab and then select the Team Members subpage. The following tabs may appear in the left icon menu (depending on your licenses and permissions). The exact options available depend on your user role, assigned licences, and company configuration.

  • Open User Management to manage users and user-level settings.
  • Open Analytics to review available reports and call insights.
  • Open Admin Settings to manage organization-level preferences and controls.
  • Open Company Settings to review or manage shared company resources.
  • Open Call Queues to configure licensed queue features.

User Management (Admin-only)

The User Management tab contains tools for managing users and user-related settings. Depending on your Sync permissions, users may be able to review or update Team Members, assigned services, devices, phone numbers, licences, and personal account configurations.

Example: User Management tab with Admin Sync permissions.

Analytics

The Analytics tab provides access to available call data, reports, and performance insights. The analytics subpages displayed depend on the organization’s services, licences, and the user’s reporting permissions. Admins can learn more about the Settings Portal Analytics section with this overview.

Example: Settings Portal, Analytics showing a one-day volume graph.

Admin Settings

The Admin Settings tab contains organization-level preferences and controls intended for authorized Admin users. These subpages may include security settings, account preferences, feature controls, recording settings, notifications, email options, and other company-wide configurations.

Example: API Setup page with API Keys subpage open.

Company Settings

The Company Settings tab contains the shared resources and configurations used across the organization. Depending on the company’s services and the user’s permissions, its subpages may include:

  • Team Members.
  • Phone numbers.
  • Departments.
  • Ring Groups.
  • Welcome menus.
  • Devices.
  • Special extensions.
  • Schedules.

Some users may be able to view these subpages without having permission to make changes.

Example: The Call Blocking page is available from the Company section in the Sync Settings portal.

Call Queues

The Call Queues tab contains configuration and management tools for licensed queue-based call distribution features.

Depending on their access, users may be able to manage:

  • Call Queues.
  • Queue agents and supervisors.
  • Routing strategies.
  • Business hours and schedules.
  • Announcements and hold experiences.
  • Queue reporting and related tools.

Call Queue access requires the appropriate features, licences, and permissions. Call Queues are not included with every Sync bundle.

Understand user access

Not every Sync user has the same Settings Portal access.

Regular users

Regular users generally use the Settings Portal to review or manage their own user-level settings. Some company subpages may be available as view-only references.

Admin users

Admin users may have permission to manage Team Members, company resources, devices, call routing, security settings, licences, and other organization-level configurations.

Example: Call Options for Regular Users.

Licensed feature users

Some tabs and subpages appear only when the user or organization has the required licence or feature access.

Missing an expected feature?

If a feature described in the Knowledge Base does not appear in your account, contact your Sync administrator or net2phone representative to confirm your permissions and service availability.

Example: Profile Settings open to the Licenses tab with assigned licenses listed for the user.

Within the Settings Portal, the tabs and subpages available to you will depend on your permissions, assigned net2phone licences, and your organization’s Sync configuration.
