Sync Administrators can enable SMS messaging for eligible company phone numbers through the Sync Settings Portal. After a number is registered, it can be assigned to a Team Member or configured for shared messaging.
Notes and requirements
Not all net2phone Canada Sync accounts have SMS enabled. If you do not see the Messaging section of the Sync Settings Portal, your account does not have SMS enabled.
- You must have administrator access to the Sync Settings Portal.
- Only eligible company phone numbers can be registered for SMS.
- SMS registration may take approximately two hours to complete.
10DLC registration for messaging in the United States
SMS messaging through Sync Canada currently supports Canadian use cases. Self-service 10DLC registration is not available in Sync Canada. Contact your net2phone Canada representative for more information about messaging registration in the United States.
Register a phone number for SMS
- Log in to the Sync Settings Portal.
- From the left navigation menu, click Messaging.
- Under SMS Registration, click Add Number.

- In the Add New Phone Number window, enter and select the phone number you want to register.
- Click Enable.

Active SMS Phone Number List
The phone number appears on the SMS Registration page as Inactive while it is being registered with the messaging provider. Registration may take approximately two hours. Refresh the page later to confirm that the phone number status has changed to Active.

Assign the number to a Team Member
After the phone number is identified as Active in the SMS Registration list, you can configure who can send and receive messages using the number.
- Navigate to the Company section of the Sync Settings Portal. The Team Members page opens by default.
- Search or scroll to find the Team Member you want to assign the SMS-enabled phone number to.
- Click the pencil icon to edit the selected Team Member.

- In the Team Member's profile, open the Company tab.
- Assign the SMS-enabled phone number to the Team Member using the phone number drop-down menu.

Configure shared messaging
Assigning SMS-enabled numbers to Departments, Ring Groups, and Welcome Menus supports shared messaging through the following Company settings:
- Departments: Allow selected Team Members to send and receive messages for a specific group.
- Ring Groups and Welcome Menus: Route messages from an assigned company phone number to a Team Member, Department, or the entire company.

Remove SMS registration
To disable SMS for a registered number, return to Messaging > SMS Registration, then click Remove beside the phone number. Removing the number disables SMS messaging through that phone number.
